When and if you buy one and open it up you will see that the entire chassis is dangling down into the enclosure rather than across. It is really kind of wacky in this day and age of amp upgrades to make the tubes so hard to access and leave so little room for the speaker. His work around was to put a piece of old leather as a buffer between the speaker magnet and the tubes and to leave the bottom of the back panel not screwed in all the way so it is sticking out a bit. We had several email exchanges and when his Gold arrived he emailed me to tell me that the Gold did not fit without hitting the tube platform and OT - and this was with the bell cover off. I had already open the AC10 and seen the odd layout and was skeptical about being able to fit an alnico speaker in there because of the layout. I found a great deal on an almost new Greenback 10 on, ironically from a seller who bought it for his AC10c1 but then found a deal on a Celestial Gold 10. I just recently bought the new AC10c1 and while it sounds pretty dang nice out of the box I knew it would sound better with an upgraded speaker (and tubes). Looking for something specific? Im thinking of returning it for a Blues Junior but I havent played one, only heard demos on the net. Im getting used to it, but its pretty bright and breaks up pretty fast so doesnt have a lot of clean headroom.
